Welcome to Student Teacher Brady Cerda

Making Changes in Mechanics with Mr. Cerda

This fall the San Luis Obispo Agriculture Department welcomes Cal Poly Agriculture Business & Marketing Grad student, Mr. Brady Cerda as a student teacher. This Paso Robles native was an active FFA chapter and sectional officer in high school and was a member of the National Champion Livestock judging team. Brady also played both football and wrestled while at Paso Robles High School. He has an extensive and diverse background in many sectors of agriculture with numerous skills to teach our students. He has been working hard to clean, organize, and restructure our Ag Mechanics shop this summer. With CTE Career Technical Education on the rise and the focus of our school system, now more than ever students need opportunities to gain tangible experiences for their future. We are very excited for students to gain more applicable hands on skills and to build projects in the classes he will be teaching. These skills will transcend into our Ag Integrated Science classes as we do units in Electricity, and engineering, Earth science, the Universe, and much more.

CTE Courses are teaching students skills to apply to their future in life and college

Brady also brings a wealth of experience in the livestock and animal science industry. As an All American livestock judge in college, he will bring national experience to our Animal Science course second trimester. Brady worked for Foster Farms for five years as a processing plant manager and managed a 2500 dairy cow milking operation. In addition, as an operations manager for a show cattle operation he served roles as a welder, irrigation manager, cattle herd manager, AI (artificial insemination) technician, and cattle fitter. He will definitely help contribute experience to the beginning of our CDE teams as they begin their competition season. This past summer, Brady worked full time as a landscape lead installer for a local landscape company. This experience will make a direct impact on our Ornamental Horticulture class and various units in Ag Biology and Ag Integrated Science. Prepare for projects! Brady currently lives in Santa Margarita with his wife Mandy and their two sons, Carson (7) and Blane (5). Please welcome him to our San Luis Obispo High School Agriculture Team!
