SLO FFA Chapter Officers “DIVE IN” to Leadership

On October 10th and 11th, your chapter officer team was attending the Chapter Officer Leadership Conference in the beautiful Hollister, California. Since three of our chapter officers, Kalena Cirone, Amber Bjerre, and Luke O’Leary , are also regional officers, San Luis Obispo FFA also brought along five additional members.

The nine participated in leadership workshops from both the State and Regional Leaders. Learning how to lead as individuals, and become better officers, the officer team took this opportunity head on. Competing in the yearly Lip-Sync competition, SLO took home the prize for b

est dressed team with a performance of a mashup of the Lion King. We were also awarded the best chapter in our respective section, for the third year running.

SLO attended the dance with the theme of mix and match on the same night as Homecoming. Finishing out the night with dancing to a wide range of music, SLO FFA’s own Luke O’Leary and Joelle Lewis also led a rendition of the cupid shuffle

and started the whip! Meeting new people, learning leadership skills, and just having a great bonding experience was the everyone’s favorite part. A special thanks goes out to Taylor Young, Sophie Maino, Hailey Robella, Jake Walker, and Lindsey Macleod for sacrificing their Homecoming to come and enhance their leadership skills with the officer team.
