The Opening Act: SLO FFA Speaks it’s Way to Success

On September 30th, the San Luis Obispo High School FFA Chapter traveled to Morro Bay High School to participate in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies Contest. We had 120 students participate in the contest. Each year San Luis Obispo FFA is fortunate enough to have a large number of students participate and succeed in this public speaking competition. Special shout out to the freshman class who had a grand total of 48 out of 120 students participate in the competition! Stay Hungry class of

2019! In both the Novice and Advanced rounds San Luis Obispo FFA swept the competition.

The overall high team was chaired by Olivia Ortiz, her team also consisted of Camille Descamps, Molly Massman, Ariana King, Taylor Young, and Stella Boller. San Luis Obispo’s Advanced team chaired by Hailey Robella also took home a blue ribbon, as well as our very own officer team. San Luis Obispo received

many awards and outstanding speaker ribbons. Special congratulations for the following outstanding speakers: Olivia Ortiz, Ariana King, Taylor Young, Sofia Woods, Kailee Browning,Hayden Shannon, Andrew Martin, Dasha Novotny, Callan Treur, Kalena Cirone, and Carolyn Adams.
