2016-2017 Chapter Officer Team
President: Kalena Cirone
What’s up SLO FFA? I am thrilled to be serving you as your 2016-2017 Chapter President. I love this organization and can’t wait to share with you wonderful experiences that will help you grow as a leader. Through this organization, I have been able to compete twice in Louisville Kentucky in Parliamentary Procedure and have competed in multiple contests on a state level- my favorite being Extemperanous Public Speaking. Outside the FFA, I am avid dog lover and especially love my two dogs, Henry and Zara. I enjoy hiking especially in MDO. I also love serving as your South Coast Regional President and can’t wait to see to see all our members grow as leaders!
Vice President: Sophie Maino
Sophie Maino is pumped to be serving the San Luis Obispo FFA Chapter as your Vice President. She is currently a junior at SLO High School and will also be serving this year as the SLO Section Secretary. In the FFA she has competed the Impromptu, Creed, Novice Parliamentary Procedure, and Agricultural Issues contests. She has attended both state and national conventions and is excited to be traveling to Indiana with her team to represent California at this year’s National Parliamentary Procedure Competition. Outside of public speaking Sophie enjoys raising swine for the Mid State Fair and playing sports. At SLOHS she plays varsity volleyball, dive, and track and field. Along with her sports she likes to get involved with the school through the Interact club, Harvard Model Congress, National Honors Society, and Key club. Sophie is looking forward to meeting and serving all the members of the San Luis Obispo FFA Chapter.
Secretary: Callan Treur
Callan Treur is pumped to be serving you this year as your 2016-2017 Chapter Secretary! She is a Senior at SLO high and has been involved in FFA for three years. She has competed at Nationals for Novice Parliamentary Procedure and has also competed on Advanced Parli Pro, Opening/Closing Ceremonies, Impromptu, and was the Co-chair of the Extemporaneous Committee last year. She has attended conferences like GLC, MFE, and State conference. This year Callan is looking forward to competing in more public speaking contests and leading her chapter to success! Outside of FFA, she is involved in the United Way Youth Board, NHS, and Mock Trial. She loves her cats, friends, and being spontaneous!
Treasurer: Darius Vigil
Darius Vigil is ready to be serving you this year as your 2016-2017 Chapter Treasurer! He is a Senior at SLO high and has been involved in FFA for four years. He has competed at Nationals for Novice Parliamentary Procedure and has also competed on Advanced Parli Pro, Opening/Closing Ceremonies, Impromptu, and was the Co-chair of the technology Committee last year. He has attended conferences like MFE, and State conference. This year Dariu is looking forward to competing in more public speaking contests and leading his chapter to success! Outside of FFA, Darius enjoys spending time with friends and working with the elderly. Darius power animal is the polar bear.
Reporter: Carolyn Adams
Carolyn Adams is psyched to serve as your 2016-2017 Reporter, and is a Senior at San Luis Obispo High School. Carolyn has been involved in the FFA for four years and has participated in a variety of things such as Novice and Advanced Parliamentary Procedure, raising a market lamb, and the Agriculture Issues Team. She has also attended conferences like ALA, State convention, where she served as a delegate, and National convention. She plans on competing in Advanced Parliamentary Procedure and Job Interview in the upcoming year. Outside of the FFA, Carolyn is very dedicated to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Varsity Track and Field, and the outdoors.
Sentinel: Hannah Ryan
Hey there my names Hannah Ryan and I’m ecstatic to be serving as your 2016-2017 chapter sentinel! I’m currently a junior at San Luis Obispo High School and a member of the soccer and swim team. I compete in Parli Pro, and I have completed in impromptu and I plan on competing in job interview. I love hiking with my dogs and hanging out with my friends. I hope to have a great year serving you all as the chapter sentinel!
Historian: J’aime Radding
J’aime Radding is excited to be serving as your 2016-2017 San Luis Obispo Chapter Historian! She is a currently Junior at San Luis Obispo High School. J’aime has competed at state for Novice and Advanced Parliamentary Procedure and received 3rd place in the Creed competition. This summer she raised a swine project for the Mid-State Fair. In the upcoming year J’aime will be competing in Advanced Parliamentary Procedure as well as either Extemporaneous or Prepared public speaking. Outside of FFA J’aime is involved in Latin Club, National Honors Society, and Harvard Model Congress. She enjoys running and riding her two horses Paloma and Dakota. J’aime is looking forward to the year ahead serving you as chapter Historian and the San Luis Obispo Sectional President!
Parliamentarian: Lili Steel
Hey everyone! My name is Lili Steel, I am a sophomore, and this year I am serving as your Chapter Parliamentarian! I am extremely excited to be serving on a team with such incredible people, I love this organization and definitely feel like I am part of a family. I have had the ability to learn so much and compete on several teams, some going on to win state championships. Outside of FFA I am an avid beach-goer, I swim competitively and play water polo and I am a big animal lover! Little fact about me: I was born in Australia and moved to SLO 2 years ago.
